Intro: Character voice over

Characters: Daniel, Kevin, London, Sergei

Aside: The lost note

  • Signed A.W.
  • Something to do with shipments
  • Found on the ground where the truck tracks disappear into the glass factory.
  • Discussion about “increasing production”

Chinatown

  • Decided to drop pursuing any mafia connection research as a potential lead for the mystery.

Moon Wraith

  • Plans to stop Silvio — we can go or not, she doesn’t care.
  • We choose to go elsewhere.
  • We still have Xian-Gang.

Colonia de la Sombras

  • We drop Xian-Gang with Maria Zepeda, London’s mother.
  • Maria has never gotten over the death of her oldest son, and her mind is fractured; she has days where she is convinced he is still alive. She refuses to relocate, since this the apartment where he lived.
  • Someone is guarding the apartment and we tell Maria we will be back for the girl (or Silvio will).

Campus Physics Lab

  • Opening the bottle, even in the containment room, causes magic to explode out of it; Sergei’s body instantly absorbs it, even through his protective gear.
  • Sergei’s eyes turn yellow, and around him, those looking beyond the mist can see swirling brooms.
  • Anything Sergei does while using this magic causes things to go chaotic and unpredictable.
  • The group puts their heads together and figure out how to draw the magic out of him and obliterate it, which is taxing for Kevin and London, but gives Kevin a better understanding of his powers.
  • At the end, the bottle remains with some strength, but not as much.
  • We have a hunch that Sergei could leverage this in harmony with his other powers if he could learn to control it.
  • Sergei uses a mass spectrometer to figure out the chemical components of Candy — establishes that it’s 90% candy with the other 10% composed of some unrecognized psychotropic.

London’s Office

Text conversation with Briana

  • We asked about anything that was handed out at the party, looking for some correlation to the experience with the roses at the coffee shop.
  • Briana says that candy and shots were going around, but that was it.
  • As for the shots, she thinks they were only from people she knew (Hattie?) but she will think about it and get back to us.

Candy Research (Daniel)

  • The drug is well documented in police records and easy to get on the street throughout the city.
  • Usually distributed by those who also sell other illegal substances.
  • There is a debate between the police and City Hall as to whether or not Candy is a problem they need to deal with. The police are concerned; City Hall thinks it’s not a problem.
  • Records are fuzzy on where in City Hall the “ignore it” directive is coming from.

The Philosophers

  • Fadi reiterates that talking to Clay is a terrible idea.
  • Knows nothing about the students in question. (Trenton, Michele)
  • Today is Monday - next Philosopher’s Club meeting is in two days (Wednesday)

Open Loops

  1. Daniel to deep-dive on contacts (Kat does not remember what contacts)
  2. Daniel/Kevin/Sergei to see if they can locate Maeve’s social accounts.
