Illuminating conversations with Hans Woods and Jessica Haimer.

Vial research
- Both Kevin and Sergei seem to be able to use the vial.
- David and London = nope.
Lengthy conversation about how to approach Hans (sorry, y’all).
- Front: All Seeing Eye Investigations
- Know that Hans is insecure and fears instability.
Hans Woods’s Penthouse
Hans Woods
- Blonde hair, athletic-looking, bleary-eyed
- No obvious personal effects that show him with a sibling but there’s a closed bedroom door when it’s clear he’s been sleeping on the couch.
- Became much more receptive when Daniel got vulnerable with him.
Maybe honest is actually best policy. - Sergei
- Clearly surprised about the hits on the coffee shop and the MMA party; was most specifically troubled that we could confidently say these folks were not on Candy when they were abducted.
- Hans is obviously protecting someone he loves but is not okay with whatever that person did.
- Agreed to call us back (Daniel) after he reached out to a few people.
- Kevin attempted to listen in on the phone calls after everyone else left, but Hans caught him and an awkward cover up ensured.
Sorry, I… uh… blew out my flip flop. - Kevin
- Hans went back inside to make his calls, so we are stuck waiting.
Rachel research
- Daniel tracks down Rachel’s online presence.
- Social media (now inactive) has photos of her and Hans in the lobby of the apartment building.
- There’s obvious pain on her face — like she worries/feels responsible for him.
Timeline notes
- Rachel’s social media abruptly cuts off a month ago.
- Leckermaul article was published about three weeks ago.
- Hans exploded on the scene about five-six weeks ago.
News research
- Daniel finds an article about Rosina Leckermeyer as a dotty old lady, and the police incompetence in trying to arrest her for something for which she obviously could not be responsible.
- Jessica Haimer was the reporter of the story.
- Daniel reaches out — offers new info on case three weeks ago.
- Agrees to meet him at Common Grounds.
Common Grounds
Scene
The coffee shop is busy with no real sign of the previous day’s incident. Everything is oddly back to normal.
Jessica Haimer
Rosina Leckermaul Article
- She claims her article was changed before publication, without her consent.
- Her research started with Foxy Supreme - Naga Gang - she had been following this story. They were getting a supply of a new street drug.
- Haimer is pretty sure she had an operation out of the Aurora Glass Factory distributing Candy, the wish fulfillment drug.
- By the time the police acted on it, Leckermaul was not capable of that kind of work.
- Rosina Leckermaul interview
- Leckermaul exhibited recent history memory loss during Haimer’s interview with her.
- She was being helped by her “grandson” — DJ Hans Woods — he was checking up on her, stocking her fridge.
- She didn’t seem to get along too well with him.
- There was no mention a granddaughter.
- Editorial board felt it was more important to emphasize the police incompetence than the underlying story.
Magnum Opus
- Amun Kai — legends — “The Great Teacher”
- Leckermaul was distributing for someone/something else… using Candy …. Was in over her head and didn’t know it.
- Legend around the city says there’s an alchemist — Amun Kai — who is looking to create an elixir of eternal life. He’s slowed down the process of aging but hasn’t found what he needs to truly live forever. But the longer it takes him… the more risks he is willing to take.
- IF this is true, it would be a very dangerous thing to look into that would be …. Taken poorly on a lot of different fronts.
- Alona Wainwright — dangerous person — London has heard of this person but needs to think on it a bit more — they can’t remember why the name is familiar.
- She always seems ahead of everyone else; to know when something is going to happen
- Thinks we have two different stories going on here

Two Abductions
- Daniel tells Haimer the story of what happened at the coffee shop.
- Boy with flowers
- We woke up early
- Heard commotion
- Came back in and some patrons were gone — those that had faded flowers
- Outside the young man’s body lay on the street with flowers scattered around him — wound that is larger than a bullet hole (Haimer called it a ”staking”)
- Also smell of fresh dog urine
- Haimer thinks something ELSE happened at the coffee shop; that these two abductions are unrelated.
- Briana’s story is the more common scenario. (Going missing at a party with Candy present and stumbling out of the glass factory with no memory of what happened.)
Daniel’s phone rings. It is Hans. Here we go…

There’s a good chance that Rachel and Hans are trying to protect each other, and that Rachel is under duress to up production, getting pressure from Magnum Opus. Hans is clearly using Candy to fuel his rise in popularity. This may predate Rachel taking over from Leckermeyer.

We are pretty sure at this point that “Magnum Opus“ and Amun Kai (“The Great Teacher”) are Silvio‘s employers, and those of the Gingerbread Witch as well. Alona Wainwright is likewise tied to this organization… And probably Gregory Clay. Their focus seems to be on achieving immortality. It is unclear right now how the elixirs of various Rifts play into this goal.
