2025.06.01 Session Notes

Nicodranas

• After thinking about travel time and researching options, the party decides that they are heading to Mt. Mentiri.
• Emmi gets us teleportation access to the city of Zadash via the Valley Archive’s teleportation portal.
• While in Nicodranas, we did some shopping for fire-resistant items, but didn’t find much.

Zadash

Cobalt Soul

• Emmi brings us in via the Cobalt Soul’s teleportation portals by special permission.
• Peeking around while we’re lead out, we see doors to:
  • Emon (Tal‘Dorei)
  • Rexxentrim (Wildemount - Dwendalian Empire)
  • Port Damali (Wildemount - Menagerie Coast)
  • Vasselheim (Issylra)
  • … among others we did not immediately identify.
• Emmi sees us out, then has to excuse herself for an urgent all-hands meeting for Archivists. Something big is clearly going down.

Invulnerable Vagrant

• The party starts searching for fire-resistant items at The Invulnerable Vagrant in Zadash with little luck.
• The foremost expert in arcane fire-craft that Pumaat Sol knows lives near Mt. Mentiri.
• Her name is Vallah. She is a bit crusty, but … she’s the best, and may have what we need, or be able to help us get it.

The Platinum House

• Erash and Ferric go to visit Kumas at the Platinum House to seek guidance.
• Erash feels over his head and wants to talk to someone, specifically someone who understands the nature of dragons.
• Kumas acknolwdges that it sounds like Erash has “many people are looking for you.”
• Kumas also advises Erash to take heart because as the child of revolution, people looking for him can be both negative and positive. There are those who would oppose and destroy him… but also those who would support and protect him.

You must be worried, seeking divine guidance … 

Steamed Buns

• Khoraka — contacts his patron with a few questions. (We are unclear if there were actually five… I wrote down three important ones.)
  • Will I die on the plane of fire?
    Response: I hope so — it would save me a world of trouble.
  • Can we beat the sultan?
    Response: Unlikely. Better than you have tried and failed.
  • Should we ally ourselves with the dragon?
    Response: The sultan has lived for a thousand years, Gaushroth a thousand more. Allying yourselves with great power is never the wrong choice.
• This whole tête-à-tête gets Khoraka some side-eye from Avandra.

Emmi/Phelan Dinner

• After the all-hands meeting at the Archive, Emmi and Phelan catch up over dinner.
• She tells him that the Cobalt Soul’s Expositors are sending word from the field that there’s movement on the Fire Plane; the Sultan has been actively sending envoys to Nine Hells.
• They are also reporting sightings of Devils showing up “topside” on the material plane, including here on Exandria.
• There is no geographical concentration or obvious pattern to these sightings; at least not yet.
• She promises to keep the group informed if she hears anything else and leaves Phelan with a sending stone.

On the Road

• To speed the travel time along, the party hires a carriage from Zadash to Kamordah.
• The journey will take roughly 8-9 days.
• On the way, we meet a strange lady who sells us assorted magical trinkets and whimsical talking/trainable birds.
• The next day, we still have the trinkets… but not the birds.
• There was a race down the trail… We managed to not kill anyone.
• There were dwarves trying to “fix” a leaky keg. Everyone got hammered.
• Several days in to the journey, Ferric and Phelan were trading off watch… when suddenly… a bone devil jumps Ferric.
