2025.06.28 Session Notes

We are just trying to get ourselves killed in the City of Brass. Could you just... let us do that? 
- Snow

Outskirts of Vuthos

• Crew strategizes at length about how to approach the fire plane portal.
• Determine that more reconnaisance is needed; Khoraka volunteers.
• He heads out in a flurry of spell casting, and says that if he's gone more than 7 minutes, we should assume something happened.
• Khoraka and the DM go to the office with their dice. Oh dear...

The Search for Khoraka

• Ten minutes later, we're pretty sure something happened.
• Figuring there's nothing else for it, the party decides to approach the military barracks since it has the only non-gated entry point to the city.
• Erash hides in Snow's Handy Haversack, Phelan goes to wolf form, Valgara keeps her ears open for giants talking, and we spell up.
• SO. MANY. STEALTH. CHECKS. 🥃
• Snow makes for the bridge and is stunned by the watchtower guards. Alarms go off.
• Fire giants swarm the area.
• Phelan runs to Snow's (and Erash's) rescue. They are detained in a force cage.
• Ferric and Valgara are also captured.
• The group is forcibly taken to the prisons.

The Prison

• ... where we find Khoraka! Yay for that!
• We have all our stuff, but magic doesn't work and our primary weapons are missing.
• The unexpectedly friendly guard, Snarg, feeds us very well and explains that we're to compete in coliseum fights in the morning.
• We sleep.

The Coliseum

You walk down a shart...
- The DM

• On our way to the arena floor, we learn that we will be in THREE fights, back to back, with only a short rest between them.
• And... FIGHT! First up is 12 bugbears.
  • One pillar has a cache of weapons on top of it.
  • Snow gets some pretty amazing Rods of Lordly Might and hands them around like glow sticks at a rave.
  • We win pretty handily and catch our breath.
  • A chest appears atop a different pillar.
• And... FIGHT! Next up are three red Slaads...
